Saturday February 11 2023 - Poof!Something silly
LumberG (id 250) and I have been using this thing where we say "Poof!" the moment we flex.

It's funny because it actually came from a video from Sebastian Liden. This was before Sebastian took them all down, going from a pay-to-flex or gay-for-pay bodybuilder to a legit personal trainer bodybuilder who only shares video of him training lifting weight. Those who still have videos of him poof-flexing should cherish their precious copies or share them with all of us. 😀

A few years back, LumberG started doing these "Poof!', flexing while pinning me down. Shortly after our match, I curiously sent him a copy of a Sebastian video that I purchased doing exactly the same gesture he did. LumberG admitted that he also purchased that same video as well a while ago. So... we had both bought the same video because we both liked the slight sight of arrogance that Sebastian was exerting. This awkward gesture of flexing and saying "Poof!" along with a bunch of other funny onomatopoeia while he flexes was something that we both enjoy. To add to the hilarity of the video, Sebastien would also mention that his bicep magically grew overnight. 😅

The moral of the story is that we shouldn't think that a particular liking or interest is ours alone. The world is small and you can easily bump into someone who shares the same tastes as yours. Look at this site, I used to think I was the only one in the world who would pique an interest at bearhugs. 😅

Needless to say, LumberG and I still "Poof!" at each other occasionally. 😂

Monday October 3 2022 - Ttaree and D28383 Recent matches
Ttaree Moss Dwa Le was recently in town and we managed to pull a last minute meet-up. The last time we met was actually last year around the same time (October 2021). He wanted to take pictures together, but we ended up just wrestling. This time around, he had a hotel near the airport and we've immediately decided to start with a little photo session so that we don't regret it like last time.

He lost a bit weight going from 330 to 320 and he was a little bit easier to squeeze... just a little bit. 😉 He's a bit more manageable than I imagined, but if he does get on top of me, then there's very little point for me to try and fight back... not that I mind his weight on me anyway.

Incidentally, running your fingers slowly on his chest or back will trigger a sensitive reaction that can make him jump a bit. Can be used as a weakness if done correctly. 😂

Here's a big bearhug from him:

I also met with D28383 (id 8921) whom we met about 3 years ago in April 2019. I did not remember his hairy chest. He unfortunately shaves his beard, because it's a bit of a hassle for him to maintain.

Our wrestling was strictly trading holds where I would give him side scissors, he'd give me rear scissors and we'd exchange also bearhugs and body splashes.

I've put on my boots to increase the effectiveness of my side scissors because he can take it... although after about an hour, I was ready to give him some more, at which point he told me that he is all squeezed out.

I suggested we tried the scale again, but the scale he used to squeezed as target practice broke because the maximum weight is 300 lbs (yes, that means that the pressure exerted by his scissors is greater than 300 lbs). So, he got himself a digital one, but it won't register his body scissors. My guess is that digital scales only work when they detect that they are on a flat surface, so when the sensor perceives an incline of any kind, it just deactivate itself.

Our time was pretty short, but we made the most out of it anyway. I reminded him this time around not to wait another 3 years before meeting me again.

Sunday October 10 2021 - Sunny RematchRecent matches
I had a rematch with Sunny DeLeon on Monday. We wrestled in the afternoon just before he would leave for the airport in the evening back to Winnipeg. He actually contacted me the day before on my cell, but I had left my cell on its dock the whole day cuz it was my day off and I stayed home. I'm also not really a cell person. I told Sunny had he messaged me on MeetFighters, I probably would have a better chance of seeing it than a text on Whatsapp.

Regardless, we were able to meet around noon. We tumbled a bit and I showed both him and TxWresl a small portion of the Montreal underground city. It's realy nothing special: it's riddled with shopping malls of globalized stores and brands. You'll find the same stores here than in the US.

When we came back to the hotel, we traded gear: he kindly gave me Canada speedos, my first one ever. 😅 It's a very nice cut. It has the red maple leaf on the front and the country's name on the back, all with the typical red and white colors. I'm wearing it in the pictures below. He broke the dual set that he has for tag team matches, but he told me he can easily get another one. The only thing I need to get extra are the red wristbands to match them, but those can easily be bought from eBay or Amazon.

I gave him in return my favorite blue pro trunks that I love so much (he actually picked it... it shows that he has a very good eye and taste!), but I know these can be re-ordered from eLucha. They don't have it available now, but I've contacted the owner to re-have them made again through custom orders. Sunny told me that this would mark his first pro wrestling trunk. 🤗

We only took a few more pics. He was very sweet to mention that I should take bearhugs for the site. TxWresl (id 3061) took them for us, he's the excellent photographer that's delivering these amazing images. Whatever filter or setting he used, it's very nice to see how the blurry background helps emphasize the hold on the foreground.

Sunny suffers very well... or actually, knows how to sell my bearhug, because my bearhugs barely inflict any pain. 🤣

Lastly, why not kiss him on his chest while I crush him?

Sunny mentioned that I should attend Fighting4Fun's event that will be held in April of 2022. I think I should be ready to get out of my cocoon and be the jobber or the heel that I am meant to be. 🤩 (For some reason, I always thought that Fighting4Fun's handle was Wrestling4Fun, but I guess both would technically mean the same thing...)

Tuesday April 28 2020 - Reverse bearhugsBearhugs
Reverse bearhugs can be as fun as lifed frontal ones if you do them correctly.

Here's one taken in May 2015 where The Mauler (id 2963) tests his strength against the pitiful Loserboy. I'm not entirely sure, but I think he was also grabbing me... you know where.

This one was taken during our trip to Mexico on December 2018 with EvilDark (id 1077). There's actually another one very similar to this one, but the difference here is that we are not wearing any masks or helmets. Each time I see this speedo (or squarecuts or underwear, whatever you want to name it), I am reminding myself not to wear it ever again, even though it does match well with the orange wristbands.

Now, how about it's my turn to give a crushing blow to a helpless Cubby (id 4578)? Deep down, we all know that behind this terrible suffering, there is a happy Cubby inside. This was taken in November 2018.

Last but not least, I suppose this doesn't really count as a bearhug... Maybe half a hug with a groin grab? I'm sure Phil (id 5843) doesn't mind it.

This one dates back in 2014. How time flies... I am so longing for a match right now...

Please stay safe.

Friday October 25 2019 - Long time no bearhugs :)Bearhugs
It's been a while since I posted a string of bearhugs. These are mainly stills that are taken at least in the last year.

We'll start with a bearhug by VTWrestleFun (id 11021) in November 2018. You can also check the alternate photoset where you'll find a pic where I was the one giving the bearhug. This handsome fellow is one of the rare bears that like smaller guys. Truth be told, I think I've become too big for him now, but he was still very kind to wrestle me anyway.

Next up was my encounter with RasslorBear (id 3872) in April 2019. He may look huge and ferocious, but deep down, he is a teddy bear. Regardless, his bearhug looks mean and strong. Does it packs a punch? Well, you should ask RasslorBear to give you one and you'll be the judge of it.

This one is with Bobby, who doesn't wrestle at all. He was nice enough to take a few shots with me though. I know... this one looks more like an embrace than a bearhug...

Now that I'm back into my heel mode, I'm ready to pick up a big Vicious (id 5128) villain and crush him to oblivion! (Yeah right, Vicious is probably laughing at my pitiful bearhug right now!) This was taken in March 2019. I did the mistake of turning the camera at the wrong side of the room. I think what's behind the camera was probably way better suited than all these kitchen applicances.

Last, but not least, a bearhug on Elrac (id 692) is my finale. Surely, I can handle this pitiful jobber now that I'm heavier than him. We've recorded this also in March 2019... at a much smaller hotel. You can see with the bed mounted on the wall that we've were crying for space.

Looking at these hotel matches sure make me miss the ring... but I should stop being a spoiled brat and at least be happy with the matches I get.

Saturday July 27 2019 - Fighting4Fun and AllStarRecent matches
I met with Fighting4Fun (id 7583) and AllStar today for a match. I thought I didn't had a match with Fighting4Fun since 5 years ago, but looking back into my past blog entries, it seems we've wrestled in October 2017. As for AllStar, I thought I had wrestled him before, but nope, this is apparently my first time and AllStar told me that I probably mixed him up with someone else. He decided to join us so he could take a video while holding the camera, but that doesn't mean I don't get to wrestle him still... More on that later.

Fighting4Fun has evolved quite a bit since I last saw him. First of all, he closed all of his wrestling membership sites to dedicate his time to train Jiu-Jitsu at a school. You see this coaching heart in him and the gentle man that knows what strength to use to teach or to stand in combat. Despite that, he's still unbeatable. Agile, fast and strong. With a name like Fighting4Fun, it's a bit obvious that we went into submission, but moderate submission (so instead of tiring out after 5 minutes, you should tire out after an hour or two). His training and experience in Jiu-Jitsu definitely makes him a tough cookie. We are kind the inverse of each other. He is strong in his arms, weak in his legs while I'm strong in my legs, but weak in the arms. It doesn't take him much for him to avoid my legs though. That's where is agility and technique comes into play.

He spoke about hosting his previous WrestleAxe videos on YouTube, but eventually he had to remove them, because even if you wear a speedo, the community will *still* flag it as "nudity". Obviously. This is exactly why I don't host my videos on YouTube. So instead, he hosts them now on Vimeo and he sets three checkmarks that protects his videos: adult, violence and nudity. He can now keep them there without being worried about seeing them being eradicated the next day. He told me that on YouTube, it usually takes about 30 complaints to cause your account to be deleted. I told him that I begged to differ: it only takes a single complaint.

AllStar previously had a match with Fighting4Fun before I arrived, so he was a bit exhausted. We tangled lightly and I lowered down my strength to match his. We've then decided to do something better: the two of us, me and him, we teamed up against Fighting4Fun. Now, that is a great definition of fun. You have an elite, expert, experienced guy like Fighting4Fun, now in a handicap match with the two of us, each holding one leg and one arm. Still, Fighting4Fun put up quite a fight. This was the perfect moment for me to hold him in an arm scissor: immoblize one arm with my legs and immobilize the other arm with both my arms. And then I told AllStar:

- "He's all yours!"

We still struggled quite a bit, but eventually our teamwork got the better of him and he tapped out once. Yay. It's not really fair for Fighting4Fun, but he really welcomed the challenge.

I think AllStar is camera shy, so all you will get today are pictures between me and Fighting4Fun.

We'll start with some basics from me: a grounded bearhug and a full nelson body scissors (this was one of the few times we did a give and take hold, because normally, it's near impossible to lock this in a submision match). Again, credit goes to AllStar for shooting these.

As you probably will expect it, Fighting4Fun's moves are quite a bit more technical. You have this sleeper and then, this hold... that I thought was an one-arm choke, but that's not it. There's a different term for it and I couldn't figured out what it was. If you do what is the name of this submission, by all means, please do let me know.

Fighting4Fun looks very nonchalant and zen in this signature hold, but it actually does work on him pretty well. That is, if he cooperates.

These are all screencaps from a few videos. Fighting4Fun told me he'll do some editing and then he'll post it on his profile. I'll try to do the same on my end.

After 2 hours of submission, both of us were pretty much drained. I gave him a big bearhug, but he showed me how to do it properly: put your arms lower on your opponent's lower back, put your chin just underneath your opponent's shoulder, bend him and push your chin forward. I have to admit, he did it on me: it hurts. That's not the type of bearhug I like. I felt an arc in the back and a bad ache. Nope. I'm going to stick to my traditional bearhugs.

I did a lighter bearhug for AllStar, and hopefully, I'll get to wrestle him again. He's a very nice guy. He's light on his wrestling skills, but just a little bit of training and practice can easily change that.

One last thing I'd like to mention is that I wrestled both of them on a bed sheet that we placed on the wooden floor. Fortunately, we were aware of our surroundings and of the limitation of this setting. Whenever someone was against the floor, we made sure not to push or to put pressure, because the spine against a hard surface is never a good idea. It's actually quite dangerous. I think I'll insist next time to put the mattress on the floor.

Sunday May 19 2019 - PreferencesPassion for wrestling
In my travels, I've met people who use wrestling to be able to satisfy a specific condition or fantasy that they really love. I call it "preferences", just to make it look nicer than "fetish" or "fantasy". A friend once told me that a hardcore "fetish" is really a condition that you MUST fulfill in order to come. However, I think that most people are lighter on their requirements and they are flexible: they will usually still gain pleasure through variants or other means.

I'm just listing some of these preferences now to recall some of my older memories. There's plenty more in this list, but I'll stick with a couple few for now.

• Head Scissor Lovers: Perhaps this is the most common preference I've seen in many wrestlers. Some of my opponents only want to be held for a long period of time. Squeezing them tightly until they tap, or remain within the boundaries and limits of submission. Examples of wrestlers having this preference is HeadSqueezeKing (id 5553) [ Entries ], HeadlockMeHard (id 2511) [ Blog ], Headscissorsguy (id 9989), Kevin_Patrick [ Event ] and SubJobber (id 713) [ Pic ].

• Body Scissor Lovers: I could classify myself in this category. I absolutely adore scissors, but then again, I love racks, bearhugs and full nelsons with body scissors. EvilDark (id 1077) falls into this category, but often enough, you have variants where people prefer the side body scissors.

• Gut Puncher and Gut Punchees: Pretty self explanatory. Marty (id 6169) [ Clip ] goes into this bucket, as well as AKRob. Despite the clips, I think both Marty and AKRob are more receivers than givers of gut punches.

• Sleeper Lover: I get a lot of people who wants me to sleeper them until they are KO and I always them that I'll never do such a thing. When dealing with the extremists in this category, I make sure to release much sooner than anticipated. The last thing I want is someone to fall unconscious while I have this applied. For some reasons, I don't have any examples of wrestlers that come to mind right now... I'll try to think about it and re-edit this later.

• Shoulder Riders: While this is not a wrestling hold per say, many look up to wrestling as a great way to be lifted and to be carried around. Shoulder rides are often used in tag team matches as well where one wrestler puts his opponent on his shoulder while the tag team partner jumps from the third rope and performs a lariat. Obviously, you don't see this often in our community, because we try to play safe and we don't have the training to execute such a maneuver. Anyhow, known shoulder lifters are Transporteur (id 5373) and John (anonymized)

• Face Sitters: I'd admit this is the hardest preference for me to fulfill. I've never been really strong on breath control. Some pains are fun, but this is a sort of pain or restriction that is pretty uncomfortable... at least for me. I don't mind sitting on someone's face, but to have someone butt on my face is... something else. You can't please everyone, right?

Nevertheless, most of the preferences I've listed here are easy to fulfill: wrestling is often an excuse to reach that desire. But you know what? There's nothing wrong with that.

Just like a chemical or electric reaction triggered my love for bearhugs while watching wrestling on TV, I find it that the same applies to many wrestlers that I've fought. One wrestler would watch a WWE wrestler apply the face sitter and that's how he got his fondness for this hold. Another one watched a cartoon of a body scissor being applied and that was his catalyst.

Saturday April 6 2019 - D28383 and RasslorBearRecent matches
I got in touch with D28383 (id 8921) again and I remembered not to pass the opportunity to ask him what his pseudonym meant. He told me it was just a bunch of random letters and numbers with no real meaning. It is made as such so that nothing links back to him. His personal identity and privacy is of upmost importance, so he tries to leave the least amount of trace and visibility as possible. To be young as he is and be on constant guard about how fast information spreads does make a contrast with most people our generation who nowadays posts everything online. I guess I am to blame too since I'm typing this and making it accessible to everyone, but I'll reiterate that my site is a small hub that is not as mainstream as Facebook. Chances are that if someone outside the usual circle falls on bearhugger, he/she most likely would hit the 'Back' button if that is not in his/her list of interests.

Anyhow, despite his concern his privacy, it didn't stop us from sharing a scissor session, from the side of course. I still prefer my scissors applied from the rear or from the front, but you can't have everything. I also brought my boots and he agreed that the extra grip it gives does make the scissors stronger. He showed me a very interesting thing to measure the power of your scissors: he took a scale, wrap it in between his legs and he started squeezing. The scale would go up to 280.. maybe even 300 lbs! Yeah! 300 lbs of pressure! I tried it myself, squeezing that scale, but I couldn't go above 220 lbs. Either his body scissors are stronger than mine, or I am not wrapping the scale the correct way. Nevertheless, I thought it was a very good idea to use a household device this way.

In my objective to try to wrestle more frequently and on a regular basis, I asked D28383 if he wanted to meet more often, but he suggested that we stay on "play by ear" basis. In other words, contact each other whenever we feel and go from there.

Btw, D28383 also stands in computer jargon as a hexadecimal color in web pages. Hence, this makes this pseudonym an ideal one to hide and dissimulate your identity in search engines.

RasslorBear (id 3872) and I saw each other at Clash 20, 3 years ago. We both saw each other, but we both didn't find the courage to talk to each other. Oh the irony! I got in touch with him later through MeetFighters and we ended up having chats like these:

Nothing is lost really, because if you make new friends after the event, it is never too late to wrestle. The event still helped you make that new connection that you probably wouldn't have had otherwise. As such, RasslorBear kindly initiated the first step to make our meet happen. During spring break, he made a series of wrestling travels and his last flight stop is Montreal.

Hummm... I have to say that RasslorBear is definitely the biggest and sweetest teddy bear I've met. He has the build of a massive heel, but deep down, he has the heart of a jobber that would not even hurt a fly. His style is light pro or medium pro with moderated pressure (not too much pressure or pain). I knew our personalities would match as soon as he uttered the words: "You'll find out that I get amused by the smallest things." He giggles a lot, just like I do and he doesn't mind my... umm... animal sounds.

I'm known to wear very silly t-shirts. He stops me and tells me: "I love your t-shirt! I want one just like that!" That's a pretty good compatibility sign that shows he is young at heart and that is quite playful.

RasslorBear is doing great. He gets my seal of approval.

RasslorBear loves pro gear so he wrapped on his boots, put on his trunks and donned his red mask. Lucky me, not only is he a gear lover like I am, but he's also a pic-taking lover. We each placed our cameras and we've each let those devices do their magic. I personally like this shot when we were putting ourselves into position. The best pictures are usually those that are spontaneous and that you were not prepared for it.

When we were actually ready for our tag team flex, I realized a bit too late that I was actually hiding him. Silly me. Yes, I'm a klutz and an idiot.

No, we are not part of the same team because it was just the two of us, but I would definitely love to be in his team. Classic matches usually dictate that the big guys go with the big guys, but rules are meant to be broken in wrestling, so one day, this tag team of ours should have a big guy and a smaller guy.

We traded a few holds here and then: here's RasslorBear putting on a reverse headlock. Overall, we took it easy because I didn't want to wind him out. After all, RasslorBear spent the whole week traveling by plane from one destination to another.

He's around 350 lbs, so I didn't want to risk it with the rack. Instead, I opted for the safer alternative that you guys all know is the Fireman's carry. However, you can see down below that he wasn't so sure about it and reached for the mattress with his hand. Sensing a bit of struggle, I couldn't keep him up there for more than two or three seconds.

Bearhugs and scissors were out of the question because I couldn't wrap my arms around him, nor could I wrap my legs either. I guess those holds would just make the Great RasslorBear laugh.. or giggle.

We went to a couple of restaurants. One task on his to-do list was to try Montreal's smoke meat. We went to Dunn's for that and he soon realized it's really just brisket, which he told me has several different names depending on which state you go. We also tried Stash Café and Deville Bar. I did the silly thing of bringing him to the Montreal Science Museum, not knowing it was entirely for kids, but we hung out a bit in the old port of Montreal afterwards, watching large chunks of ice break apart from the St. Lawrence river as temperatures start rising. Ah.. spring. Finally. I apparently made him walk a lot.

Having the short term memory that I have, I asked him twice this trip why he would wrestle me considering that his type is usually also bears. RasslorBear answered that personality overrides his physical preferences. Awww...

We met and wrestled on Thursday, Friday, and did our touristy thing on Saturday. He would then have to leave on Sunday at 2 AM in the morning for his plane back to California. I gave him a nice big hug.

Considering that he traveled all the way from California to Montreal to meet and wrestle me, I should be returning the favor. A return trip to San Francisco is due.

Sunday January 27 2019 - BeastMtl and D28383Recent matches
BeastMtl (id 10067) told me previously that because of his size and strength, he often heels and rarely gets a chance to be a jobber. Hence, whenever I see him, I'm more in the mindset of being the heel since I get to job most of the time anyway.

He taught me a new hold: it's sort of an Abdominal Stretch, but on the ground. He is laying on his stomach, I sit slightly on him near his pelvis, then I take his right arm and bring it behind my back and turn him around almost 120 degrees so that he could be facing me. It stretches both his back and abs.

Now, we experimented a bit more: while I had him on a Reverse Indian Deathlock, we've decided to add this Abdominal Stretch on the ground. When combined, it offers quite a nice stretch and BeastMtl gave it a new name: Darkhan's Death Stretch. "Death" makes reference to the Reverse Indian Deathlock wihle "Stretch" refers to the Abdominal Stretch. Darkhan is actually BeastMtl's wrestling handle or nickname on MeetFighters.

I particularly liked the session we had and I've decided to make a commitment to at least wrestle BeastMtl on a monthly basis. This will also help me develop the heel side in me and perhaps, improve my thinking speed when switching between holds. It also goes in pair with my resolution to do an effort to wrestle more frequently.

I met with D28383 (id 8921) for the first time. D28383 kindly hosted me in his apartment. I knew he like scissors, but however, I had no idea that he likes side body scissors rather rear body scissors.

What's the difference? Well, rear scissors put pressure on the ribs, whereas side scissors puts pressure on the stomach and on the back of your opponent. In rear scissors, you usually position behind your opponent and put one leg on each of his sides. In side scissors, your opponent is on his back, then arches his back so that you can put your legs in: one behind his back and one on his stomach, then squeeze. The pressure points here are completely different.

That being said, we traded both type of scissors anyway, but I have to admit I have a lot more trouble submitting someone in side scissors rather than the rear ones. After all, it's easier to contract your stomach than contracting your ribs. The amount of pressure required on side scissors is way higher. This is where I told him that I'll bring my wrestling boots next time to help me out.

I took the risk of meeting D28383 despite not knowing his face. He asked me why I didn't ask for a picture. I told him that many faceless wrestlers remain that way for a reason. It's usually because they want to stay anonymous and/or the internet freaks them out because we live in a culture where we are surrounded by cameras everywhere we go. It's also by experience that when I ask for someone's pic on a faceless profile, I often no longer get any replies afterwards. It's a deal breaker for some. So.. I didn't want to take the risk. D28383 explained to me that he would have given a pic to me without any issue, so I could recognize him when he picked me up at the subway station.

Anyhow, we did mostly some give and take and took it easy. He has this nice hairy chest and I felt that he was quite shy, but I tried to make sure that he was relaxed and calm during our session. We exchanged bearhugs, I picked him up in a rack, but he was uneasy because being picked up off the ground in the air like that always makes anyone uncomfortable, especially on the first try.

Before leaving, I did tell him to give me a shout if he'd like to be squeezed again.

I did forget to ask him something though: I still don't know what his username stands for. Then again, it could just be random characters and digits.

Thursday January 17 2019 - Real archives: 2005-2012Archives
These photos really really REALLY are classified as archives because they have been taken at least 7 years ago or more (the oldest pic was actually taken 14 years ago).

This one features Frank in 2006. Yep, that was back at a time where I still wanted to use wrestling masks for privacy. I lost contact with him as years went by, but I did remember that we've wrestled about half a dozen times. I also remember that he used to bring a dog in the hotel room. It was a dog in training for the MIRA foundation program, a Quebec-based organization that provides guiding dogs for the blind or for the people who needs them for their day-to-day activity. If you volunteer to train a dog with them, you are tasked with the mission of always bringing the dog everywhere you go so that he gets used to it. And as weird it may seems, this includes bringing them in the hotel room where you are having a wrestling match with someone else. Anyhow, after 1-2 years, these dogs then undergo a rigorous 2-5 years program to be trained as guidance dogs and not every one of them graduate.

I do recall that his dog was extremely curious and wanted to join us when we were wrestling. I'm pretty sure he was whimpering while I was hurting his master with this full nelson camel clutch combo.

That camera was a Canon Powershot A95. It was still trusty back then. The good old days of prepping the camera for 3 shots over 10 seconds of preparation. Rinse and repeat.

This one is from 2005. Another one whom I lost contact. I've only known him as SubJobber (id 713), a very cute furry bearcub. Head scissors were his weaknesses.

The picture below is from FrankyBoyTheLegend taken in 2012. As you may have guessed from the picture, this guy loves to have his abs punished. I don't think we did any wrestling holds. Just gut punching. This is actually the most recent pic of the bunch in this entry.

The only nickname I have in my records for the next pic is BD. All I know is that this guy was mostly into trampling. I would trample him for an hour or two and in the end, I would get a minute or two of bearhugs. Back in 2006, yes, I would have given anything for a bearhug, even if it meant working a lot for it. You can also tell from the picture that I was piss poor and I would only wear your typical everyday underwear to wrestle. Actually, the one I was wearing was even oversized because I forgot to do my laundry.

Last but not least, I labeled this guy as Spike. You can still find a scenario with him under Match ID 11. He is more of a gear master and while our interests diverge a bit, we did find ways to have fun regardless... Spike applied a nice semi-headlock in this picture. This was 10 years ago, back in 2009.

Would I wrestle any of these guys again if it was possible? Absolutely. Maybe I'll get to meet them again one day. Who knows? With today's technology, it's not difficult to find back old friends.

That being said, most of these guys had specific interests that loosely collide with wrestling, but back then, when the wrestling community was still small, you'd compromise and meet up anyway to try and make things work.

Sunday January 6 2019 - Bearhug Time!Bearhugs
It's as if I don't have enough bearhugs already posted compared to any other holds, according to this chart. Hey, this site isn't called bearhugger.net for any particular reason.

So yeah, it's time for a couple more bearhugs.

We'll start with a bearhug by MarcWrestler (id 3658). I'm trying as hard as I can to resist his devastating bone-crushing bearhug!

I've produced the most content with EvilDark (id 1077) and I wrestled him the most, which is why I have so many bearhugs with him. Am I laughing at his pitiful bearhug or am I in tremendous pain? Truth be told, EvilDark cannot even hurt a fly... He'd be enraged if he read this, hehehehehe.

Here comes a newcomer. BB (id 1215) tries out his bearhug on me. Judging from the bone popping in his underwear, me thinks he likes it. It's either that or he is naturally well-endowed.

But wait a minute, can Loserboy apply bearhugs, too? Well, of course he can! Behold, the great Loserboy giving a bearhug to Backbreakers123 (id 209)!

You'll notice above that I seem to be the one in pain. It doesn't look like it really, but Backbreakers123 (id 209) was actually hitting me with his elbow to free himself from the hold.

And I'll keep dessert for last: The cute Cubby (id 4578) is applying his mighty bearhug (or a nice warm and cuddly embrace).

That's it, that's all for now. I was actually thinking of putting images of holds involving wrestling ropes today, but I got lazy and picked up a few bearhugs instead.

Thursday December 27 2018 - Heel or jobber? I will take the heel part today.Scenarios
Some days I feel more like a heel than a jobber.

I checked my previous scenarios to see when was the last time I wrote a match: it was apparently last year in December 2017. I guess I'm due...

I was scheduled to work on my match with Backbreakers123 (id 209), but I realized after looking at that set that he used a lot of technical holds which I still do not know the names today. Instead of cross-referencing and researching online, I was a bit lazy and I've decided to go with something simpler. I had a match with Eman (id 2668) last year and I know the name of most of the holds I used. This helps me simplify the process of writing a story for it.

Anyway, it took me in the end about 3 hours of writing, editing, placing and set up to finally come up with a proper story for this match. I guess that's why I don't do this often. Being disciplined to sit down for three hours to type and concentrate hasn't been my cup of tea lately.

You can have a look at the final outcome in Match ID 354.

While I'm at it, I might as well throw in a few shots with some of the uncommon moves I have used. I could put more bearhugs and more racks, but a little bit of variety doesn't hurt.

I suppose this one below doesn't count as a hold per say... It just looks cool. I really like this shot where I am about to land an elbow strike to Eman's gut. It makes me look mean and it's very wrestling-gy. I know.. it's not even a word, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I've posted a couple of figure fours previously, but they are still uncommon compared to my other holds.

My body scissors are best known to be accompanied with a full nelson, but truth be told, chickenwings are way more effective. I've seen people escape and break from my nelson with power, but they have a lot of trouble with chickenwings. Arms placement. It sometimes makes all the difference.

Finally, this is apparently the first knee drop i'm posting.

I hope you guys will enjoy the scenario/story I wrote for the match. Give it a thumbs up if you'd like to see more stuff like that.

Overall, I guess I'm just okay-happy with the match. It feels a bit bland and plain. It's rare for me to be a heel, but I could have put a bit more thought and care to the story. I had some inspiration, but not the top version variety I usually get when I'm really into it. I think the lack of Eman fighting back may have slightly decreased my interest and concentration for the story. In addition, I was also working with a time limit: I started the story about 4 PM and had to do something else at 7 PM, so I did rush and hurried up. Anyhow, I'm sure Eman and I will have other matches in the future, so I'll have the opportunity to put a bit more love to the story in the next chapter.

That being said, anything I write in my match scenarios can easily be altered or modified. If you guys think I should change a specific paragraph, add a sentence or re-arrange the story to your taste, then by all means, feel free to share it with me.

You will notice in page 6 of the story that I had completely forgotten to talk about the Reverse Indian Deathlock I was applying. The way the camera is placed, it feels like I'm applying different other holds instead. The leg lock is partially hidden.

Sunday November 25 2018 - A Wrestling Week-end in Burlington, VermontRecent matches
The customs officer at the US border patrol was very inquisitive this time around. I told the truth once again because if I lied or tried to hide anything, they would know. As I discussed in a previous post, I'll reiterate that these officers have interviewed hundreds of thousands of passengers in their lifetime and they've become experts in breaking people to make them tell every single ounce of the truth. Hence, the lady officer was surprised that I would wrestle in a hotel. She smiled as she interviewed me and asked me what happens if I break something. I replied that I've been wrestling for quite a while now, I always take a large room or a suite and I put things out of harm's way before I rumble. She was also very curious and asked me what was the name of the website where I meet my wrestlers. There's always the question of whether I am getting paid for my wrestling or if I will take part on tournament with prizes, but I always reply that I am a casual wrestler that does it just for fun, in private, and I never take part in public or any type of regional competitions.

I stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in South Burlington, Vermont. A very nice hotel with a good amount of space to put the king bed on the floor for a good wrestling week-end. I came in prepared again with my usual 4 bed sheet clippers to make sure that sheets are not sent out flying when I roll on the mattress. One of the wrestlers later informed me that this is one of the rare hotels that actually provides you a fan. I know.. I already messed up the blankets and the covers, but that's what happens when you are a hotel/motel wrestler.

I met with with VTWrestleFun on Friday. We actually had our first match ten years ago and I still remember that back then, it was a submission bout where he was drenching sweat on me. I was however surprised in this encounter to realize that he shifted to pro. He enjoys this style a lot more, it doesn't get as sweaty and judging from his response to my actions, he prefers that I do not defend from his holds. He seems to be a pure heel, liking powermoves, specializing in lifts and slams, pulls them out very easily due to his strength. If I was lighter, he would press me over his head.

Lucky for me, by "lifts", this included bearhugs and racks, which we applied to each other. He was very nice to have it recorded and he told me that he does not intend to run for president anytime soon, so sharing it with you guys would not be an issue. We'll start with a few stills since it'll take me some time to process and edit out the setup frames and the silly parts of the videos.

This is my attempt of racking him: he bends nicely. I only wished he'd wear a speedo or something, but heck, I'd wrestle him in anything as long as he goes shirtless to show me his hairy chest.

His rack also packs quite a punch! You know.. considering the TV and the furniture on the background, it's no wonder why people are wondering with skepticism whether I have a history of breaking stuff in a hotel match. Had I or my fellow wrestlers lost balance, we could have utterly fell back and broke that screen or that nice wooden furniture, if not the wall or the window.

Luckily, nothing broke, because we are masters in the elegant art of racking. So now, I'm taking my revenge with a bearhug. How dare you rack me? It's funny, in this pic, either VTWrestleFun is expressing some pain or he is in a state of ecstasy. Which one is it?

But my revenge is never complete without my signature hold: The Full Nelson Body Scissors! The smirk on his face simply shows that VTWrestleFun can take it like a pro.

He told me previously that I can apply my scissor only up to 75% of their maximum power, but I understood from that message that I simply shouldn't put any pressure at all. Hey, I can learn too. I'll adapt my style if it means I can wrestle this hunk often. When we tangled, I realized that it was better if I was just following his moves and let him apply what he wants. I can defend, but just a little bit. Each time I would try to put something on him, he would make it very difficult. I'd pretend to do a face rake to take control, but it has no effect on him. Or maybe he thought I was caressing his face. I told myself that he probably wants to retain control. He likes half and full nelsons a lot and he usually goes for smaller guys. Incidentally, I think he stopped doing nelsons when I commented out that he seems to like them because of the frequency of its use, which is a bit sad because I absolutely adore nelsons.

He tells me some of the wrestlers he meet are disappointed because they wanted to be punished, roughed brutally, because it seems to be the general look that VTWrestleFun seems to portray from his general look and profile. I told him to take it as a compliment. He does look like a heel that would destroy you. Deep down, VTWrestleFun is like a harmless lamb. He takes things very easy, his moves are light and he is prudent when he manhandles his opponent. He's quite a strong guy, he slams, lifts me upside down and throw me down laterally and diagonally in a very firm and secure way.

We wrestled briefly for about an hour and we discussed about our wrestling styles and preferences. Big vs small are matches that definitely fits his cup of tea. I even think I might even be a little bit too big for him or that I felt he'd prefer me a bit more in shape. I did offer him to stay the night but he had to tend to his 3 cats and cut firewood so they can stay warm.

Suggs (id 3009) was my Saturday match. I try to be a bit more reasonable and scatter my matches by limiting myself to one per day. Sunday will be an exception though.

What can I say about Suggs? Well, for starters, he is definitely the funniest and the most talkative wrestler I've ever met. He's incredibly handsome in my book. To top of that, he also has a very nice personality. He looks like Seth Rogen and when he puts on his cap backwards in an attempt to make him look younger, it actually makes him look like Drew Carey. I actually see him do a comedy show or host a game show. He told me he could absolutely do Family Feud. There's nothing very difficult about saying: "And survey says?"

Wrestling-wise, this guy is pretty versatile, but prefers the promission style or total squash. Due to his shoulder injury, he plays it safe and light: he can be a complete tough heel or a submissive jobber that gets caught in a total squash match. You wouldn't expect that from his build, right? Suggs is just full of surprises. Both his wrestling style and personality will blend in with yours easily. Suggs admitted to me that he often gets to be the heel, so getting to jobber once in a while is quite refreshing. In addition, having seen my history of losses, he'd like me to score a win with him.

I did not read his profile carefully enough to realize midway in our session that his all-time favorite hold is the head scissors... and wow, this guy can really take it. He's one of the few that can take head scissors like a pro. No matter how much strength I put, he wouldn't tap. That being said, I should have been careful anyway because I apparently moved one of his tooth. That's why I don't usually apply head scissors to full strength. In this case, I probably should have verified that my legs were more around his neck. I was a bit too near his jaw. Also, let's forget about the body scissors. If he can stand the head scissors, then the body scissors won't even make him feel a thing.

I flirted with him a couple of times, but I don't think I am really his type. He's totally my type though, but then again, which bear have I ever declined? He was nevertheless a very good sport to wrestle as much as he did. He mentioned he was out of shape and had little endurance, but I felt he did great. In the future, I wouldn't mind being his complete heel since it would spell less work for him and since he's made so tough that virtually nothing would make him submit. I also need to remember he also loves bearhugs, camels and boston crabs.

Suggs complained about his belly, but I told him he is perfect how he is. He replies he wants to be able to see his "pipi". Yeah, It shows his type of humour. He did make it down from 260 to 230, so he can be self-disciplined as well. It felt lighter than expected when I was racking because I was mentally set for 260 and it really did not felt that way (not to mention he totally cooperated very well and he knew exactly what to do).

Suggs has one of the Strongest Bearhugs I've ever had the luck to be crushed in . Check out the video under [ Clip ID 350 ]. I was selling his bearhug badly, until midway through, there was a sudden change in my facial expression. I felt I was in trouble. I was actually thinking:

"Ooof! Ungh... URGH! This is a strong bearhug. I have trouble breathing... He's crushing me so hard that I might have to give up if he doesn't stop... but ... but.. would it be silly of me to submit in a bearhug live while the camera is recording?!?".

Not that I mind though. I love big burly men with strong arms and strong bearhugs ...that look like Seth Rogen. Hehehehe. Near the end of the video, Suggs adds to the bearhug a wedgie. It's apparently his favorite.

He was very flexible about producing content and offered me right in advance the possibility of taking pictures and videos. We took mainly videos, but I was able to get a few stills. You'll notice the same format because I tend to like racks and bearhugs

I racked him first and there was a little oopsie because I couldn't reach his trunks.

Suggs then showed that reaching for someone's trunk is never a problem.

And of course, I needed to apply that signature. You probably know the name by now. I'll spare you the repeat.

... And that bearhug! Suggs is a great seller. With his clenched fists, Suggs is in the fight for his life to resist the crushing might of his opponent! Will he break free and muster enough strength to turn the tables around? Ok, now I'm just employing the sentences I use as description in my matches.

Suggs is quite sarcastic. I asked him if I could put my arm on him just to hold him in a cuddle and he'd say no with a funny face, but I think he was kidding me and I took it the wrong way. I'll just force myself next time or hold him regardless. Or even better, keep him down instead with a schoolboy pin. As a matter of fact, I believe he likes doing that while slapping his opponents in the face. I remembered that because he eventually flexed on top of me and I told myself that was such a nice sight to see. I eventually gave him back his own medicine though.

A few days later, I received a note from Suggs telling me that our session was a total blast and that he can't wait until next time. That definitely gave me the boost needed to really cheer me up and look forward to our next encounter.

I also remembered afterwards that I asked Suggs what he'd like to do if he could choose his career. Being a roadie to setup/mount big concert stages for a popular rock band and doing tours traveling around the world were one of his passions. It does come with a consequence that it does hurt his ears a bit. The other was to be a pilot. He enjoys turbulence in a plane. The rockier it is, the more excited he becomes.

BadBillOfVt was my afternoon match. We've corresponded for ages as well, but neither of us took the steps previously to cross the border. Since I was on my way to Burlington, I gave him a last minute shout and he compassionately made himself available. We took it very easy, more along the style of give and take. Our chemistry was good and we each trusted each other pretty quickly. I was able to raise him in a Fireman's Carry, but we had a bit of trouble with the Torture Rack, so in order to play safe, I've decided not to pursue the rack after a first failed attempt. Doing it again might have spelled disaster. I know my limits and I should respect his.

We took quite a few shots, but I can only share the ones with mask or the ones where we don't see his face. So here it is: guess what? My signature again. Yes, that's a record: three signatures move on a same week-end. What better way to restrain big burly and cuddable opponents?

He also applied this nice reverse bearhug on the mattress:

And this rare technical Cobra Clutch. I almost was going to call it a half nelson, but a Cobra Clutch is a much more complex and effective than a half nelson.

I'm sure you realized by now that it took me a total of three separate trials/photoshoots to finally realize that I had to move the sheets, covers and pillows that I was accumulating on the sofa bed to another area so that a mountain of junk does not show up in the pictures. Sometimes, I can be pretty retarded. For a few examples, just look at the previous pictures I took above previously (scroll back up), before my matches with BadBillOfVT.

BadBillofVT is very nice guy and an often misunderstood wrestler. During our tumble, he was a bit tired, breathing fast and I was quite a bit concerned. As we made sure to include resting times between our lock-ups, he eventually recovered. He spoke and shared about his career and the development of his passion for wrestling. He started pretty late because of the taboo of wrestling in the past decades and also because he was very shy about it.

He kindly gave me this very nice spandex singlet. It has a very cool look. I'll be forever thankful. I love the pattern on the lower half and the whole gear is pretty high quality.

He did contact me afterwards to let me know that he was a bit sore, so I was apparently still a bit too rough.

WrestleInMN (id 3305) was my last match, on a sunday evening. Oh boy, there's a reason why I kept him for last. We've met about five times before, he always came up to Montreal to wrestle me. It was about time I paid him a visit.

I haven't wrestled him since May 2018. He came in July and August 2018, but he was only there for Montreal events (Fireworks and Highland Games). That being said, WrestleInMN has a sudden volcanic surge of energy this time around. He did one of my favorite moves when he's on me: he had me in a reverse headlock where his bulging hairy chest was on my face. I couldn't budge, do anything... Not that I really want to do anything.

He's one of the few wrestlers I can kid around by saying he is the Pillsbury Dough Boy. I also flirted him many times and probably blurted out one of the cheesiest sentences I've ever dare to say:

WrestleInMN: "Once I get out of this, hell you're gonna pay!"
Loserboy: "With you, it's always heaven!"

I actually couldn't believe what I've just said myself. Somebody reading this would probably be slapping his forehead right now.

WrestleInMN has gotten considerably stronger. He learned to resist and make himself immune to leg scissors. He was able to tense up his leg and bar off the pressure I use, even with my knees. This guy is really incredible. WrestleInMN taunted me about my useless legs now.

- "Where are the powerful legs that so many wrestlers have ranted about? What happened to those legs of yours? Why would wrestlers submit to those wimpy legs?", asked WrestleInMN.

Yeah, WrestleInMN loves to tease me now that he's virtually invulnerable. The only thing that can make him tap are the head scissors (and even there, I think I ended up pinching his skin or hurting too much a side of the neck unintentionally) and the reverse indian deathlock which requires his cooperation.

We still had an intensifying nipple pinching contest where he can be the only winner since he can still take it much much more that I can. I started to preemptively tap out to make sure that my nipples aren't too sore for the upcoming week. I want to be able to put a t-shirt and not flinch each time the fabric touches my nipples. It would remind me of WrestleInMN each time, although it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I had him in sort of restraining hold by holding his arm with both legs and holding his other arm with one arm, but this does limit the things I can do on him as well. As for the rest of the time, he was on top of me, holding me down, pinching and toying around with me. He knew that I didn't mind at all. I was actually exhausted after 3 matches this week-end and he knows it as well.

I need to review and update my notes about him: I've learned this time around that he can't get deep tissue massage because he would hold his breath and pass out. I suppose it either tickles him too much or it hurts him too much. However, touching him softly tames him. He knows me a lot by now, so he is always on his guard no matter what I do. He called my attempts to tame him with a soft caress on his back "Fake news" as in a deceptive way to get him to calm down, so I can plot to do a hold on him that would miraculously make him submit. He's not wrong, you know. How else would I fulfill my title?

After our 2 hours and a half match where he mostly dominated me, he took me out to see Burlington. He showed me the beautiful Church street. It's peaceful and serene, yet vibrant and beautiful on a Sunday night. Yep, it was already decorated for the holidays.

We walked around a bit and he was ranting about going up a hill. There's quite a bit of slopes in Burlington. I threw at him a little insult:

- "Are you going to be okay going up the slope or are you going to tumble and roll down the hill?", I asked.

- "Wait until I get you again in my holds", he replied.

Despite my sarcasm, he treated me out to a nice bistro called Sweetwaters where i overate. I learned in this dinner that he is a bit of a holiday grinch, but I had a very fun and amusing evening with him. He's sweet all around, has such a nice laugh and smile and his life is full of passionate things to share. After dinner, he showed me around the city a bit more and drove me back to the hotel. He is an absolutely amazing wrestler, a formidable host... and a very handsome bear, but I've already mentioned this before.

He kindly escorted me back to my room, we gave each other a big warm hug and I sighed as he left. He had to tend to his dog, so he couldn't spend the night. Burlington has quite a handful of animal lovers. I'll try to bearnap and raip this evasive bear another time.

WrestleInMN also has great empathy: he actually contacted me everyday I was in Burlington to make sure that I was fine, that I didn't need any food or drink or was not too lonely or left alone. Truth be told, I should have spent more time with him. Maybe I could have locked him down after the bistro, but I didn't want to regurgitate my burger in case he puts his weight on me.

I think both WrestleInMN and Suggs would get very well along with each other. Unfortunately, with the housing crisis in Vermont, nobody can host, so they never followed-up or met in any shape or form. They are very close in personality and character, they are both very witty, funny, extrovert and talkative, so I'm thinking of helping them host so they can both be together the next time I'm around. Incidentally, they both have the same age and they are both younger than I am. This is like bear haven.

4 matches out of 4. 4 was just the right amount over 3 days. Not too little, not too much. I am not too sore. Best of all: no cancellations. This is what happens in a small town of Burlington with a population of 43,000 people and 600,000 state-wide. The wrestlers here are respectful and welcoming. They do appreciate the people that come in to wrestle them. This is probably one of my best wrestling trips in my book.

I renewed friendship with an old friend, made two new great acquaintances and nudged the friend I had seen not too long ago. My only complaint is that a fun week-end like this passes by so fast.

Last thing I needed to mention that is a bit off books was that I gambled a bit by opening the Growlr application and caught a fellow called "B" who works as an opera singer. A very studly and big bear who is a very nice cuddler. Not a wrestler though, but he kept me company on a day where I was waiting.

Thursday November 22 2018 - WatlerGRecent matches
WalterG (id 2846) was in town just before my trip to Burlington. He's an avid gutpuncher and gutpunchee... In fact, he can handle those way more than I do. I met him for two consecutive days and my belly felt sore after day one. His rock hard abs could take much more punishment, even on day two. That's usually what happens when you are passionate on a specific hold. He likes to be gutpunched, and I like to be scissored. We both have great endurance... in our own respective fields.

I asked him to be nice with both his gut punches and my nipples, because they were getting sensitive. He was happy to oblige, but I was mean in return. I kept punishing him in leg locks and body scissors, which he can't take as much and as many as gut punches, obviously.

My multimedia collection tells me that our first encounter dates back in June 2013, followed by another meet in January 2014 where he also met Marty (id 6169).

WalterG reminded me that I was his first wrestling match ever when he met me in 2013. He wasn't sure about wrestling and my match with him would help him define whether or not it was something he would pursue. Luckily, he enjoyed the experience and he continued to travel to meet many wrestlers. His return today showed to me that he has learned a lot since and has acquired so much skill and endurance. I felt a bit of shame not remembering that I was his first match, but very touched and honored at the same time that he'd pick me. That's a lot of pressure when you're the deciding factor: it's as if you're the one that's going to determine if you're going to scar someone for life, or make him embrace and love the sport/hobby.

This is why this journal or this blog is important for me: it's useful to have an archive to look back. Something that helps me reconstruct and recall memories from my past matches. More often than not, wrestlers send me a message and I feel very silly not remembering the details of my previous encounters with them. Of course, since Walter's first match with me is in 2013 and I did not start this personal blog separate from the main site since 2015, it's harder for me to track and recollect memories, but now, I have a blip on the radar to remind me in the years to come when I will be typing his name in the search bar to bring up this entry.

Anyhow, WalterG went through an online system to rent a nice and cozy apartment in the heart of downtown that gave sufficient space for wrestling. We were however wary about our surroundings because the walls indicated that the apartment adjacent to ours could probably hear us. Regardless, we traded a couple of blows and bearhugs. We locked horns in quite a few competitive bouts. He had the upper hand manipulating arms while I dug up a few dirty tricks or two with my legs. He even gave me some great food to re-energize. After two consecutive days of three hour sessions followed by a friendly nap, I gave him a big hug and we parted ways. I thanked him for traveling from Buenos Aires, Argentina all the way up to Montreal, Canada in a cold winter week at -17° Celsius on a 5-way connection flight, touching multiple cities and airports just to get here. I just wish there were more wrestlers that would understand and acknowledge all that he's been through to make it to Canada and that they would make some time to be with him.

Spending time with wrestlers is a way to recognize all the effort they went through to have a match with you.

Sunday September 9 2018 - TransporteurRecent matches
The last time we met was actually in February 2016. We were due to another session because he told me that he needs new pics for his profiles.

He specifically requested that I wear a pair of skimpy Jeans he meticulously crafted with either a pair of scissors or by ripping them out with his raw brute strength.

He'd gotten a bit beefier, but recently got out of an arm injury at work. Still, his composition allows him to completely ignore my holds such as this Full Nelson Body Scissors. I still wish he'd do some effort to sell it thought, but that's not his style.

He insisted that we try something different, so he went on and try something he saw on TV: Some form of standing crucifix hold.

This session wouldn't be fun and complete without a rack, right? I realized afterwards I should have removed my socks.

Deep down, Transporteur has a big fondness for the art of Shoulder Riding. You may find it strange or different, but just like we have a community for lovers of bearhugs, there's also a community for lovers of shoulder riding. It's not a wrestling hold per say, but it does look nice anyway.

I think he told me he was 170 lbs, but he cheated on this picture. He didn't trust me enough to carry around, so he was actually holding the ceiling...

And just to show how strong he is, he's demonstrating here that he doesn't need me to do the same.

There were a lot more photos on shoulder riding, but I'll let him post then on me. From what I understood, they are currently being posted in outside communities, forums and networks though, but a little internet search nowadays will help you locate almost everything.

Sunday August 5 2018 - 41st Montreal Highland GamesOther events
WrestleInMN (id 3305) was in town today and he invited me to go see the 41st Montreal Highland Games.

These games represents a combination of various events including pipe bands, highland dancing, tug of war, strongman athletics competition, musket/cannon firing and medieval fights. However, most importantly, every contestants, musicians and athletes there are wearing a kilt... Yes, everybody gets to be Scottish for one day.

The event is held as a fundraiser for the Douglas Foundation for mental illnesses.

We showed up at around noon and used a school bus shuttle to arrive near the Douglas Hospital grounds. Near the entrance, a kind lady would take our entrance fee and attach a bracelet to our wrists while explaining in french:

- "It'll be 15$ per adult. Kids 14 and under get free admission."

I nudged my head towards WrestleInMN and asked the lady:

- "Can we consider my friend here as a 14 years old? He's very young."

- "No, I'm afraid not", she answered while smiling.

- "Well, he is 14 years old.. mentally."

- "That's an entirely different matter." She laughed .

I later explained to WrestleInMN the English translation of our conversation. If it wasn't for the crowd around, I think he probably would have headlocked me to the ground. Meheheheheh... It's always part of my evil plan to psych up wrestling bears so they have this strong desire to destroy me.

Anyway, you've guessed correctly if you figured out that our main presence at the Highland Games was primarily for the Strongman Athletics Competition. About 9 strong beefy guys were doing sack throws, hammer toss, caber runs and a handful of other strength competition to show off their... well.. strength. Here's an incomplete lineup of the competitors.

From left to right, you get to see Rob Young (Orange), Owen Williams (Navy), Danny Frame (Green), Padraig Moore (Orange), Will Barron (Green). This photo is unfortunately missing four contenders. One of the commentators mentioned that Rob Young gives out big huge bearhugs... for 1$.

I had my eyes set on both Padraig Moore and Danny Frame while WrestleInMN had his eyes on Will Barron. I commented out to my friend that each time Danny throws a sack or a stone, you'd see his shirt go up a bit and you get to see his belly. In contrast, Will had his t-shirt tucked down the whole time tight in his kilt. WrestleInMN mentioned that he likes his bears a bit more "refined".

He asked me:

- "You being a lover of bears, how come you never came to the Highland Games?"

I didn't know what to answer.. I've always wanted to see these strongmen perform. I lived all my life here in Montreal and this event ran before I was even born... Yet, I've never knew or heard about it... No sense worrying about it now. It's never too late. From now on, I'll make sure I attend this on a yearly basis.

I wasn't sure if cameras were allowed, so I only got my LG G4 phone to take pictures and videos. Unfortunately, this phone was definitely not meant for great pictures. The digital zoom is terrible. Of course, there were plenty of people sporting their expensive 5K worth camera with professional zoom-in lenses bigger than your arm. Had I known, I would have brought it my own Nikon to test it on the field. Meh... there's always next year.

There was a heatwave going on. Both of us got sunburn, but it was well worth it. The following 40-seconds reel should summarize a few of the things that we've had the pleasure to experience throughout the day.

Test

We continued to walk around to admire the bagpipe marching bands, the tug of war and the medieval fights. We also listened to two country and Scottish fusion bands playing music while we gulped down haggish, lamb roast, fish and chips and lemonade. We also visited kiosks selling artisan goods, t-shirts, jewelry, weapons and more food. I just realized I bought nothing as a souvenir.

The tug of war was pretty interesting. Four delegations were competing with each other with one tug of war presented each hour. The finalists were The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and The Stingers from Concordia University. The Stingers ultimately won the war.... but it doesn't end there. The host invited children from the crowd to challenge the Stingers in a tug of war to see if they can win against the champions. Obviously, the kids won... because the Concordia Stingers were instructed to let them win. It's probably the cutest thing I've seen at this event. You should see the kids reaction: "Hey, we just won against eight beefy quarterback players of 260 lbs each! We're stronger than them!"

There were musketeers trying to shoot their muskets, but they seemed to have a few mechanical problems. I was recording them for 2 minutes waiting for them to shoot. WrestleInMN eventually told me to stop recording and as soon as I pressed the stop button, the musketeers were able to fire a shot a few seconds later. Go figure. Thankfully, WrestleInMN was able to get a video of a separate cannon shot during the opening ceremony, which I included in the summary reel.

The strongmen caber toss was definitely a highlight. WrestleInMN took the opportunity to explain to me his grand knowledge of this particular event. The caber toss is thrown not for power, but for precision. It needs to do a 180 degree flip and needs to fall straight forward from where it is thrown. This was my first time seeing this, so yeah, it was quite something. I get it now why many people come to these games just to see the caber toss.

Around 5 pm, I started getting a headache from the heat, so we took the shuttle back and parted ways. I would have wrestled WrestleInMN, but he needs to drive back to Vermont to take care of his dog. We have decided to reschedule our match for perhaps October or November. Back home, I shudder with a bit of pain while putting Aloes on the back of my neck... it's always the one spot I always get burned from over-exposition to the sun.

Friday April 6 2018 - Not your usual holdArchives
Fun4Us (id 8822) will probably kill me for taking so much time between my posts. Truth be told, my days have been void of wrestling action for these past few months. I should be catching up on this temporary MIA status in the season to come as we get out from this dreadful winter. I'm like a bear hibernating and avoiding our mountain of snow.

As I browsed through my past matches, I took a few screenshots from holds that are not the usual ones I tend to employ all the time... due to my lack of imagination. Here's a Reverse Ground Bearhug applied on WalterG (id 2846). Why is this unusual? Most of my bearhugs are standing, but Walter here wanted to experiment a different kind of bearhug. Done this way, you exert less energy since you don't have to deal with the intricate effects of gravity.

This one here is from Chinlock (id 7994), applying gracefully a technical Ankle Lock or Ankle Twist. This was extracted directly from his personal rendition of All Star Wrestling montage. I should be able to post another clip from this pretty soon.

I've learned this next hold from WolfJobber (id 8490) who calls it the Jacknife. In this vulnerable position, EvilDark (id 1077) can technically steer away by hitting my pouch with his ankle... It's actually quite painful when done this way.

Speaking of which, I had another brief week-end in Quebec with EvilDark during the St. Patrick's (a couple of weeks ago). We took it easy again, but on my way home, I was stuck in the train for a couple of hours. The transport company courteously issued a rebate for all affected passengers. The deal expires in 6 months, so I guess I'm due for another trip to Quebec before my voucher is gone.

I also received word from Bella, the ring owner, that she might have a place set up in June. Something tells me that I will soon spring back into action!

Tuesday January 16 2018 - No fest for me this year...Blog entry
I won't be attending the Wrestlefest of NYC this year. This is a decision I might regret because I've been contacted by quite a few wrestlers that I would like to tumble with again. I also received messages from new wrestlers that I would have wanted to wrestle.

A combination of work and family commitments are telling me that it would be a wiser decision to stay in Montreal for the month of February. However, things are looking very good for a possible travel in Atlanta for the 22nd Clash of the Titans in end of May/beginning of June 2018. I'll try to post more about this soon.

Meanwhile, for all attendees to the fest, I'll be missing you guys and I hope you guys will have lots of fun. Think of me by putting on those bearhugs, scissors and don't forget about those racks too!

Tuesday December 26 2017 - Socks removal... and 2 bearhugsVideo clips
Wilson (id 5398) requested this from me a very long time ago. I created the clip, but I had forgotten to upload it. It was originally produced in 2015.

If you are curious what this is about, just check out Clip ID 323 which features EvilDark (id 1077) doing my request.

If you rather see me stick to the usual stuff, you can check out instead the bearhugs I've added under Clip ID 324 and Clip ID 325 (or just jump to the listing of newest clips). On the first bearhug, I'm giving the bearhug (for a change) and it's Chinlock (id 7994) who is "struggling" to get out. On the second one, it's Sylvain (id 2636) that grabbed me upside down.

He later "grabbed" me differently and fake punched me down there. I was not expecting that and panicked a bit... so I gave up. What else is new?

By the way, happy holidays to each and everyone of you. Thank you for visiting and reading my blog.

Saturday December 2 2017 - Loserboy heels!Heel power!
Epiphany (id 1458) told me the other day that he had issues with people who lower their self esteem. In this case, the title "Loserboy" I gave myself years ago has a negative connotation. I had to explain to him that it's mostly a gimmick and that there was a history behind it. It's all pure fun, really.

In any case, I've heeled in many of my matches in both sub and pro. In pro, I do lose most of them, mostly by agreement, but I still win some now and then... again, also by agreement. People who know me well understand that I generally prefer to lose, but if a wrestler tells me he wants me to win, to have my boot on their face or to stand on top of them, then by all means, I'll gladly grant his wish.

Here's a couple of shots where I do have the upper hand. What happens next during the course of the match is to be discussed... Do I maintain this momentum or do my opponents perform a dramatic reversal in an unexpected turn of events?

I love to carry big guys, if not through racks, then by using lifts with my mighty bearhugs! A good example is this warm hug I'm giving to Fun4Us (id 8822). He looks like he is wincing, but he's actually a very good actor. How could I possibly hurt such a cute, strong and tough stud?

When my opponent is down, the notorious Loserboy plays dirty and pounds his adversaries until they can't take it anymore. This is what happens to the poor Vicious (id 5128) who doesn't have time to recover. I shouldn't be smiling in this pic, but I couldn't help myself. Or.. you know what? I could be smiling because I have everything under control.

Another shot on Eman (id 2668) who honestly, is a much bigger jobber than I am. If there's one match I can win with one arm behind my back, then it will probably be this one.

You can actually tell this guy to put a few holds on you, but he is hesitant most of the time. You'll have to provide some fort of encouragement and support to cheer him up and to coach him in doing the maneuver properly. Or just tell him that regardless of the maneuver, he's doing fine really.

I was supposed to go visit EvilDark (id 1077) this week-end, but both he and I caught a cold, so we've decided to postpone. EvilDark has a preference on stomping, but he generally prefers that I stomp his back. Rather than being a hold, I suppose it's probably instead some form of massage. Then again, who doesn't like a good massage?

I'm actively working right now on my Round 2 match against Marty (id 6169). This sleeper should give you a hint that I am actually driving the match...

Heel or not, as long as you are flexible about it, no matter what title or pseudonym you carry, you'll have fun tangling with the thousands of wrestlers in our small community.

If the world is filled with 7 billion (7,000,000,000) people, and that 10% are gay, that makes 700 million (700,000,000) people to choose from. However, among that 700 million, there's really only 0.1% that are wrestlers... so I'd say there is around seven hundred thousand (700,000) wrestlers from a pool of 7 billion.

One can still be hopeful and say that there's 7 million wrestlers instead of 700,000, but I do feel that the latter is a bit more accurate. It's a small niche really and even then, 700,000 is a lot.
