Wednesday September 14 2022 - Wrestlpal, round 2	Visitors in town
Wrestpal was in town last week and we've decided to have a rematch. Originally from Germany, he lived a while in Portugal and then moved to London for work. So yes, he traveled all the way from London to Montreal. Our first match was in August 2019 and I still remember fondly the great time we had. Wrestlpal gained a bit of weight in the past two years, but he managed to shave out 75% of it since. The extra weight did give him a bit of an edge, but he is still weak as always in body scissors. About a 20% squeeze is enough to make this big lad submit. To make things fair for him, I've taught him the elbow push on the leg to break free of scissors. When he tried it on me, I released it almost immediately and he accused me of purposely letting my scissors go. So.. in order to show the efficiency of the elbow, I told him to apply me the front body scissors exactly like I did while I dig my elbows in his legs. He obviously responded with "Ow!" and realized that I did NOT let him go on purpose. 😂 Our bout was as fun as last time, if not better and we even had time to practice and try out a few holds as sort of a training session.. trying to get out of holds or learning how to apply them. He made me realized that the armlock in combination with a semi-headlock was quite a lot more effective if I was not directly on top of my opponent, but instead, on the side. If I'm on top of my opponent, most wrestlers can just easily flip me to the side, whereas if I'm to the side of my opponent, I have a better leverage. I'm glad I'm still learning something new on every match. 😃 I really love his British accent. 😅 We caught up on the years that passed by. I gave him a nice and strong bearhug which he loved and reminded me to do him the same again the next time we meet. He is thinking of coming back again to Montreal next year.
