Friday May 3 2019 - From Bangor to Montreal: MaineWrestlingChub

I had the fortune of having MaineWrestlingChub (id 11066) pay me a visit yesterday. He drove all the way from Bangor, Maine to Montreal, Quebec. Well, he did make a few pit stops along the way for a couple of matches, but it's still quite a drive for a wrestling trip. The things we do to meet new wrestlers.

I told MaineWrestlingChub I wouldn't have the patience to drive. I fall asleep after one hour because the scenery is technically the same. Nope, I do prefer flying, although it is quite a bit more expensive.

Anyhow, MaineWrestlingChub greeted me with open arms in his hotel room. He immediately put me in a nice, big and strong bearhug. That's an awesome way to show your strength.

We played by ear, but given his size, he instinctively switched to heel mode while I switched to jobber mode. I still ended up putting a few holds like the camel clutch or the boston crab on him. I couldn't close my scissors, so my signature went up in smoke in this match.

MaineWrestlingChub knew his moves and he had this aura that emanates trust. He has a very nice personality that made tangling with him a blast. He respected my limits and he was always careful when he applied holds on me. I could even wrestle sub with him and not being afraid of getting hurt.

We took a bit of time to share our wrestling experiences. He spoke about Thunderdome, which I never knew existed. I've told myself: "Oh, that's one wrestling event I'll definitely have to attend one day."

Later in the night, Sylvain (id 2636) joined us and we did a bit of 2 vs 1. Sylvain's legs are longer so he could squeeze in a body scissors while I helped him out by putting a head scissors on MaineWrestlingChub.

Our tag team time was a bit brief because I had to leave to rest for the following work day. Nevertheless, it was a very fun night to remember. I know I've told myself not to look back, but I should have made arrangements to try and stay longer. For someone who did that much length of travel, I could have requested a day off from work. It's not everyday I meet wrestlers as nice as him that are willing to do the distance for a match.
