Thursday February 14 2019 - The Return to TorontoRecent matches
I think I mentioned in the past that I've been burned by Toronto. There are indeed lots of wrestlers, but from my perseonal experience, very few are reliable. Just like New York, when you are the center of a country, you know there are plenty of international wrestlers visiting every day and can afford to pick and choose... Hence, you'd reject the majority of visitors. I believe my last trip to this city was about six years ago.

Anyhow, I've returned this time because Wrestle123 (id 8009) was in town for business and he kindly hosted me in his hotel last week-end. We wrestled lightly. He started working out again so he was much more resilient than the first time I've met him. He also asked me to bring in some handcuffs.

Wrestle123 also introduced me to DefiantSub, who is a very nice and cute stud. He absolutely adores head scissors and body scissors. Although he has a preference for lateral scissors, he didn't mind me locking the rear ones... with boots. He's one of the few that have as good resistance to both head and body scissors. His headlock packs quite a punch, but I believe he was lenient towards me. I think he was afraid to hurt me. DefiantSub usually goes for bigger opponents, so I should consider myself lucky that I was able to get a match with him.

I am being a bit arrogant and putting a show here by putting my hands behind my head while I scissor him.

Without boots, he can take quite a bit, but he did admit that boots gives the body scissors the extra punch to make it that harder to resist.

Against Wrestle123, he can put up a good fight and defend himself rather well. I think ultimately, DefiantSub is a very tough opponent when he goes all out. I didn't get to experience that yet because of our limited time frame, so a rematch is definitely in order. Last thing I should point out is that DefiantSub is very open-minded.

While I was in Toronto, Wrestle123 suggested that we visit the tourist trap called The CN Tower and visit also the Skypod, and please, don't ever visit the Skypod! You will regret it. I know I did. The Tower itself is a trap, the Skypod is an even bigger trap! I was actually surprised to see that there wasn't any poster of Admiral Ackbar in the Skypod. *sarcasm*

It's true that at this time of the year, everything is so gray, cold and icy. It doesn't really help to make nice pictures at the top of the tower. It is our coldest month after all. Still, Toronto is nothing compared to Montreal in terms of amount of snow and the cold weather we usually get. So, I didn't mind going somewhere that has a little bit less of that.

Nevertheless, I did my touristy thing and took a handful of pictures, including this cliché "standing on the window glass overlooking the city" shot. The staff does everything to reassure you that the glass won't break: they put up signs that it can withstand the weight of 2 whales or a bunch of elephants.

In the evening, Wrestle123 made me explore the gay village on Church street. We've hopped from one venue to another. We tried going first to Crews & Tangos where they had drag queens singing. We felt a bit out of place: the crowd was quite a bit younger than us, so we went across the street to Woody's bar, which was connected to Sailor. At the end of the night, we walked right into the gay strip bar known as Flash. It's my first time in this one. I saw a nice ginger hairy guy with a nice facial beard named Antoine and the bad side of me made me request a lap dance.

On the sidelines, I got into contact with other wrestlers whom I can probably connect the next time I return to Toronto. I think I'm ready to give the city another chance.
