I recently saw a trailer for the upcoming film Australia, which stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman (who looks incredibly buff).
It was one of the newer trailers for the movie and during the beginning part of it, it shows a fight scene between Hugh Jackman’s character and a few other thugs. After a couple of punches are thrown, a burly contender clasps his arms around Jackman’s waist and lifts him into what appears to be a powerful bear hug, based on the grimace on Jackman’s face. The sequence is only shown briefly in the trailer, however.
Anyway, after seeing that trailer, I know I’m definitely going to see that movie now.
The bearhug is very quick indeed. It’s at 0:27 on the YouTube link.
In the MOVIE, the bearhugger is named Bull, played by Eddie Baroo. |

| In northern Australia at the beginning of World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country’s most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. |
