Big Boss Man bearhugs Jim Duggan
Despite slapping Big Boss Man twice with his hands and heabutting him three times, Big Boss Man was able to maintain a bearhug on "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan for approximatively 30 seconds. After the third headbutt, Big Boss Man tried bearhugging Jim Duggan on the mats for a couple of extra seconds and the referee ordered to release the hold (I dunno, maybe back then, bearhugging on the mat was illegal because you do get an extra advantage by bearhugging someone against something such as a wall, a pole or a mat -- Today, I think it is perfectly legal since Brock Lesnar did it in Royal Rumble 2004.).
The match between the Bushwacker and the Rougeau in this tape had no bearhugs, but they were a couple of interesting submissions such as an ab stretch, a chinlock and a short sleeper. There is also the match between Ronnie Garvin and Jimmy Heart (Greg Valentine) which was a submission match, but this one is swarmed with leg-type locks & submissions. |
