”In truth, this series began in its life, both on the cover and in the indicia, as the more simply-titled, ’The X-Men.’ It ran with this title for 15 years. In October 1978’s issue #114, it became, ’The Uncanny X-Men’ on the cover, but remained ’The X-Men’ officially—until the indicia name, too, was changed in issue #142. By issue #394 the cover would read ’Uncanny X-Men’ (without ’The’) and the indicia would reflect this change starting in issue #408.” (Courtesy ComicBookDB.com)
