Sorry it took so long, but here at last is the 3rd picture of Filmation's classic He-man in the big, strong, hairy, grizzly arms of Bearman (a one-time and sadly underused character from season 1's "Pawns of the Game Master").
This is actually the SIXTH attempt at this page - kept getting the eyes and arms wrong, and then the smudging or something else. But it's DONE!!
I even came up with lines/action for each of the pictures:
1) *Bottom Right* Bearman seizes He-man from behind in a tight strong grab.
2) *Top Left* HE-MAN: "Ungh!! . . . You've got . . . quite a strong grip there, haven't you?"
3) *Middle Right* Bearman growls (saying) "Yes, I am strong . . . and I can squeeze you until there's nothing left to Crush!"
4) *Top Right* Bearman gives He-man a big tight squeeze.
5) *Middle Left* HE-MAN: "*UFF!!!* He's right . . . he is strong enough to squeeze me. Don't know if . . . I can . . . break free . . . !"
6) *Bottom Left* Bearman continues to squeeze He-man in a crushing hold. |

Sam is a big Bear-Hug fan (in comics and animation; though sometimes live-action is good too).
He likes his bearhug illustrations to show characters and moments that he wishes had, or believes should have, been included in their animated series (or comics). Other times the pictures are also ideas from his own concept idea for a comic book hero.
Like most things, the art - in quality and such - improves over time.
Although most of the pages are done on tracing paper with reused/altered material and some others are hand-drawn, in the end they are all worthwhile and seeing! |
