Description:
The comic which actually includes the story with this hug is called ”Little Girl”, which can be found reprinted in Frew #1108 . . . .

. . . but it appears that for this comic cover (with most likely a story with no connection to the front image) the image has been altered at some point, for one reason or another - such as to make the comic seem more attractive and interesting to the buyer.
In the original drawing, Baldy’s face was not as menacing while he hugged his old friend, so the Phantom is not in any real danger.

But I do enjoy this somewhat ”dangerous” approach.

Bearhugger:Baldy
Victim:The Phantom

Entry Description:
Baldy, a gorilla ”that doesn’t know its own strength”, gives the Phantom a big hug (maybe during a Wrestling match ”for fun”).

This image was used, even apparently altered, for other and future comic issues that had stories which did not involve the panel from which it originated, whether it included Baldy (or any character from its cover) or not.
