A bearhug is the greatest example of the domination of one man over another. I have won all my wrestling matches with that hold, crushing the body of my opponent against me with such force that I generally crack a few ribs in the process. My opponents scream, violently struggle but never escape and eventually succumb to the raw might of my power. They all submit or pass out.
I’ve used this as my finishing hold for the last 25 years as the Universal Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. The UWF is unlike pro wrestling where the out come is pre-determined. UWF matches are real, the blood is real, the broken bones are real, the screams of torment are real. UWF wrestling is pankratium style fighting, mixed martial arts. A true blood sport with only three rules, you can’t blind your opponent, kill him or castrate him. Other than that anything goes.
I won my title at the age of 18 in my native Greece in 1984 when I fought the then world’s strongest man, Jon Pall Sigmarsson in a titanic 1.5 hour battle. I survived and powered out of his bearhug but after beating him to a bloody pulp, he didn’t escape from mine. I have met and defeated the world’s most powerful men like Ted vander Parre, Magnus Ver Magnusson, Jouka Ahola and Mariusz Pudzianowski. Over my career I’ve fought and beaten pro wrestlers like Kerry von Erich, Davey Boy Smith, Alexander Szatkowski, Paul Michael Levesque and John Cena and pro bodybuilders like Ronnie Coleman, who I battled twice, Vic Richards I defeated two times, Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone, Eddie Robinson, Bruce Patterson, Matt Mendenhall, Gary Strydom and Darian Yates. In one handicap match in the early 90’s I fought Aaron Baker and Rory Leidelmeyer leaving their smashed bloody bodies crumpled in center ring. Within the last couple of years I have beaten Branch Warren, Dennis James and the great Mexican bodybuilder/wrestler Gronda. Recently I’ve fought the Romanian strongman Yummi Cosmin, the Hungarian powerhouse Elek Joba and the Russian beast Alexander Federov and Denis Sergovskiy. On May 28, 2014, the final match of my career, will be in Dubai against the Russian Terminator Alkexey Shabunya.
As of now my arms are 30”, chest 70”, waist 34”, 28” calves, 50” thighs. I come from a long line of well built and exceptionally strong men. My great-grandfather beat Eugene Sandow in wrestling on three occasions with his bearhug. My grandfather was a circus strongman and my father was an Olympian wrestler/weightlifter. I proudly follow in their footsteps. |
