I'm getting tired of people who can't type a question on Google to get their answers, so I'm gonna list some of the most common questions here.
How do I subscribe to a Yahoo group?
As listed on this site:

or you can type on Google: How do I subscribe to a Yahoo group?
You just send an e-mail to
groupname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
and you'll be automatically subscribed.
Make sure to replace "groupname" with the actual name of the group (e.g., pastry_chefs-subscribe@yahoogroups.com).
How do I unsubscribe from a Yahoo group?

I tried what you suggested to unsubscribe and it did not work.
You probably made a typo. Look carefully for underscore and dashes in the groupname and type the groupname exactly how you received it (or at least copy the groupname from the mail you received from the mailing list you have subscribed to).
i.e.
If you wish to unsubscribe from pastry_chefs@googlegroups.com, then send an e-mail to pastry_chefs-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
If you wish to unsubscribe from pastry-chefs@googlegroups.com, then send an e-mail to pastry-chefs-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
If you wish to unsubscribe from pastrychefs@googlegroups.com, then send an e-mail to pastrychefs-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com

How do I know who to contact if I have problems with the general use of my mailing lists?
Look at the last section of the e-mail you received, the part after the "@" symbol.
i.e.
If the e-mail came from pastry_chefs@yahoogroups.com, send an e-mail at support@yahoogroups.com about the problems you are having.
If the e-mail came from pastry_chefs@googlegroups.com, send an e-mail at support@googlegroups.com about the problems you are having.
If the e-mail came from blabla@yahoogroups.com, send an e-mail at support@yahoogroups.com about the problems you are having.
If the e-mail came from blabla@googlegroups.com, send an e-mail at support@googlegroups.com about the problems you are having.
