Episode name:
The Pirate Inheritance

Description:
A large pirate manages to sneak up on the Phantom and briefly crush him from behind in a tight hold, similar to that of his forefather, all those centuries ago!

Plot:
One of two/few comics that includes references or flashbacks to the Founding of the Jungle Patrol - this one has first printed in 1987.

Generational references abound in this story of forefathers versus forefathers and present day repeat battles with pirates off the Bengali coast.

The Phantom looks to his forefather’s Chronicles for tips on how to defeat Juan Negro, descendant of the pirate Black John. Juan seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder and proves a pretty capable opponent.

However pirates being pirates the troops prove a handful for Juan when the Phantom plays the ”myth” card!

By all accounts Black John had ingenious ways of getting rid of his enemies and the Phantom gets to test one of the classics!

Sword and axe fights, sandy tombs, drunken sailors and awe struck Jungle Patrolmen - this story has it all.

Even a decent bearhug!
