Description:
Non (Jack O’Halloran), a big muscled non-speaking Kryptonian villain, grabs the Man of Steel and holds him in a bearhug.

But there are TWO different versions:

The final 1980 film released and directed by Richard Lester has the hold during the flying fights in Metropolis.

In the 2006 Restored version of Richard ”Dick” Donner’s Original Vision (which was filmed at the same time as the first 1978 movie), Non grabs Superman closer towards the end of the film in the Fortress of Solitude.

Plot:
3 Evil Kryptonians break out free from their imprisonment from the Phantom Zone and arrive in Earth, ”befriending” Lex Luthor who has also escaped from prison and intends to seek their revenge on Superman, the son of their jailor Joe-El. Superman, meanwhile, is having his identity discovered by Lois Lane and chooses to give up his powers to be with her . . .

There are slight differences of plot points between the different Directors’ visions/cuts, such as how the Kryptonian Villains break free and the film’s resolution.
